Hong Kong is not a market priority for the Singapore-based fintech Aspire as servicing is poor and certain services are not available to HK clients. Let me share my experience. Companies that need to make monthly eMPF payments will realise DDA is not available! As a result, monthly payments can only be made via cheque or via specialized ATM machines. Make sure you do not have SG clients as for some peculiar reasons invoices cannot be issued in SGD using the app or website. Several templates (eg invoicing) the app or website offers are evidently designed for Singapore with GST and other fields not relevant for HK. Even if payment instructions specify transferor to cover all bank charges, Aspire will still levy charges. This means any incoming payments can never perfectly match your invoices. Customer service for HK clients is non-evident as either non-responsive or slow. They don’t seem to have anyone based in HK anymore. They recently revamped their UI but the chatbot help function still refers to old UI. Basically you are not getting any support. All this makes HK companies choosing Aspire as their banking service provider extremely challenging and frustrating.
