16 Days VIP tour package in China with TCT company
Myself and my wife had a customised 16 days VIP tour package in China with muslim halal food meals included. We had major problem with muslim halal food arranged by TCT tour company. My wife had food poisoning and admitted one night in hospital in Beijing. The tour guides and the tour company are not aware of muslim halal food requirements. They think muslim halal food is any food without pork or pork oil or wine. The hotel and transportation arrangements were very good by the tour company. In Zhangjiajie city our tour guide English was very poor. She was changed on second day after complaining. The new tour guide English was good but she did not have any experience as tour guide. We missed some of the attractions in the program because of unexperienced tour guide. The tour company were trying to resolve the issues when we complain. However some of the issues such as muslim halal food arrangement were not resolved in some of the cities we visited. Another annoying issue was the budget for lunch. The first day in Beijing we were advised that your budget for lunch is 70 Yan per person per day only addition cost you have to pay. We complained to the travel agent because this was not mentioned or agreed in our package agreement. They increased it to 100 Yan per person per day. Despite this change when we go another city the tour guide tell us your budget is 70 Yan again and we do not accept and then they contact their office to verify. In general we did not enjoy our 16 days trip in China for two main reasons; non availability of muslim halal food or good international seafood and communication/language barriers. We will not go back to China again.
