Nihao Jewelry

Some lovely items and good prices, but BEWARE the fake 925 silver stamps

I've used Nihao a couple of times now and on the whole the items are decent quality and reasonable prices. My last order had a quantity of costume jewellery rings, very Art deco looking and at around £1.20 each were sold as and expected to be costume jewellery rings. When they arrived, I was very happy with the quality for the price, but when it came to photographing them, noticed they all had a fake S925 stamp inside the band. I don't know what other countries rules and regulations are, but in the UK we have very strict rules, such as trading standards, that clamp down on this sort of thing, even leading to prosecution if selling "hallmarked" jewellery that is obviously fake. I cannot risk selling the items, a) for going against trading standards rules b) the risk of getting my sellers account suspended c) misleading customers (even if you are honest and state they are costume items) and flooding the market with more Chinese fakes. Online sales of jewellery have a huge number of these fake items, with many sellers claiming that they are sterling silver, they are misleading and conning their customers and harmful to genuine traders who sell the real deal and are having to compete with the low prices. Nihao need to be more proactive with sales of any items that are obvious fakes and reject any items that come with the fake hallmark, it is not only deceiving, it is illegal. Such a shame because other than that, they were very nice rings. (In response to Nihao customer service, these were rings, NOT earrings)
