Endmyopia

On the road to 20/20

I discovered Endmyopia towards the end of 2017. After 30 years of wearing corrective lenses (prescription -3.0 D, L&R) I was very excited to learn that my eyes were 'not broken' and could be retrained to see clearly. I took time to understand the theory and then began following Jake's advice including: -Reducing close-up activity time, particularly screen time. -Reading close-up without glasses/contacts. -Reading at the 'edge-of-blur'. -Taking frequent breaks when reading/working at computer. -Buying online (5 months ago) a pair of 'differential' glasses (-1.50 D, L&R) for computer work. -Buying (a month later) a pair of 'normalised' glasses (-2.75 D, L&R) for distance vision. -Putting up 3 Eye charts on different walls inside the house and one laminated Eye chart outside. I use these to practise 'active focus' and test the progress of my eyes. -Forming new lifestyle habits including: increased time outdoors; conscious focusing on distant objects; 'active-focusing' on signs, number plates and other objects at the 'blur horizon' when out walking or driving; increased engagement with real life people and events (and future dangerous adventures according to latest Eye Guru directives). Wearing my current 'normalised' glasses and actively focusing (i.e. the blink-and-hold kind of 'active focus'), I can see the Eye chart 20/20 line clearly. And in my daily 10-minutes-studying-the-Eye-Chart sessions (basically just staring at the letters and allowing my eyes to do all the focusing) I experience distinct 'double vision'. I'll be ordering my next 'normalised' (-2.50 D, L&R) this week. So my eyesight has already improved and is on the road to 20/20. Thanks Jake!
