PDF Version is not valid in Thailand
I paid for a 5 year printed booklet. On the next day I received a pdf version, which basically, is the original UN text with my personal data and some stamps. Unfortunately, I've never received the original booklet. Anyway, I left for my travel, printed the PDF myself. Renting a motorbike was no problem with the print. But the police stopped me in Thailand and fined me 500 THB because the international driving license was not original, but a print. I got a full refund of the money I paid - so I can't say it's fraud, but definately sending out the paper didn't happen. Whether the police would have accepted their paper, if I would have had it - no idea.
