AUKEY: A great source for expensive (yet unreliable and unsupported) crap!
Received an Aukey LED lamp (LT-T6) as an anonymous Christmas gift at work. As it happens, the wife also has an Aukey diffuser she bought on Amazon. My lamp, while cool when it worked, lasted only a good solid month before it petered out altogether. The wife’s diffuser also died after about three months because the DC adapter died. Contacting Aukey directly and through Amazon, they offered no sympathy for our situation whatsoever; with mine because I do not have (and cannot get) an order number, and hers because “this vendor does not offer warranty on this product.” Small wonder. Aukey is a great brand if office culture or protocol obliges you to buy a gift for someone you really can’t stand. You satisfy protocol, but they don’t enjoy their gift for more than a short time: Win-Win! The only downside is that Aukey’s cheaply made and unreliable products do not carry a correspondingly cheap price tag. It seems that sticking it to someone still comes at a price . . . C’est la vie!
