PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BUYING FROM NIU: Initially i was very excited to purchase a scooter from Niu, their website looks nice, online reviews were great and so I bought a NIU scooter KQ3i Pro because I thought it would be of good quality and that they would provide some level of service. Nothing is further from the truth unfortunately. When i received the scooter i noticed the front display in the middle of the handle was scratched (it was as if they had sent me a previously used scooter, as it had many small scratches on the display). I contacted Niu and they sent me a new panel instructing me to take off the scratched panel and replace it with the new one they had sent. At the time I thought it was strange but Niu assured me that product was new and that this had happened during transportation. After around a year with less than 9 charge cycles and around 150 km of use the scooter just stopped working. The product was sent back to Niu's nominated service repair department (somewhere in Poland) whilst still under warranty and I expected the product to be fixed or a solution to be provided. The reply from the service centre was that the product was not in warranty as they claim that there is water damage whilst the product had only been used in normal European climate and on road. Apparently some moisture had gotten in under the panel they had asked me to replace. So this is where they immediately refer to their warranty conditions which are totally unreasonable and biased (and most likely against EU consumer law) allowing them to basically tell anyone who has driven even 1 metre that the product no longer is under warranty. Their solution was for me to either prove that the product had not been used improperly (which is of course impossible unless you've recorded every single kilometre driven) or to pay almost the equivalent of the purchase amount (over 600 euro) to repair the scooter. Any discussion with the service department is useless as they work from a script and you mostly get standard replies. My suggestion: Do not buy from this company. Their products are not of good quality at all and clearly not suitable for EU climate. Their service department is a nightmare to deal with and I strongly suspect their products do not meet the European safety standards such as 2014/35/EU as these kind of issues should/could not occur if the products met these testing/safety regulations.
