Travoport

I purchased a ticket 3 weeks out with Travoport

I strongly recommend avoiding Travoport. I purchased a flight ticket through Travoport for a trip that was about three weeks away. The advertised price was $152, which seemed like a good deal. After booking, I received a call saying the airline had received my booking request and was reviewing it. About twenty minutes later, I received another call saying the booking had been accepted. Roughly three hours later, Travoport called again and told me that my seat class was sold out. They said I would either need to change my travel dates or pay an additional $355, bringing the total from $152 to $557. They called this an “upgrade,” but it appeared to be for essentially the same type of seat at a much higher price. The customer service representative was combative and disrespectful. I was told that under no circumstances would I receive my $152 back, and that Delta would rebook me and send updated flight information anyway. I later received an email that appeared to show a rebooked flight two weeks later, with a 33-hour layover. I contacted Delta directly to let them know I believed the booking was fraudulent and that I would not be taking that or any other flight. Delta searched for both the original booking date and the rebooked date, including the flight numbers I was provided, and told me I was not in their system. To make matters worse, I checked Travoport’s website afterward, and they were still advertising the same flight at the lower price, even after telling me it was sold out. Based on my experience, I believe Travoport is not a trustworthy company. I have filed a complaint with the BBB.
