So, let's start with the footwear. It's ok. I like the styles, and it is a far cheaper way to get into barefoot shoes than with a brand like Vivo Barefoot or similar. And I guess that's where the price reflects the other aspects of my experience of Hobibear. The tracking for my first order was crazy, as the shoes seemed to make a round trip through every sorting facility in China, which raises red flags for me about the business's claims to be environmentally aware. Second thing was that they arrived packaged just in a plastic bag - not the environmentally friendly cardboard boxes claimed on the website. Finally, and this is the kicker, the customer service is nonexistent. I emailed to ask about the whereabouts of my order - nothing, zero, zip. Not even an acknowledgement of my email. It didn't stop me ordering more pairs, but I did so in the knowledge that I am taking something of a gamble. Don't be fooled by the website. This isn't a UK-based barefoot shoe company. It is a Chinese manufacturer selling direct to the public through websites designed to imitate different in-country web retailers. Once you wrap your head around all of this, you will hopefully appreciate the final product - once it arrives 😉
