Shipment of package by Skynet
Order bike parts from Wiggle. Package was sent by Skynet Worldwide Express. Previous orders sent by Royal Mail with no problems. Once package arrived in Canada, I received an email from Skynet requesting $37.00 in brokerage fees, duty and taxes. Asked to pay through Skynet website, I indicated that I wanted to self-clear so that I wouldn't have to pay brokerage fees. Skynet indicated that was not possible and I would have to pay the full amount. I have imported goods many times and I know that I have the right to self-clear. Under duress, I paid the full fees so that I would receive my package. Upon receipt of my package, I noticed that Skynet did not include an invoice which listed a breakdown of the fees charged. I contacted Skynet asking for an invoice but with no success. I don't even know if the fees charged are legit. These fees may have ended up in someones pocket, no the Gov't of Canada. Now, what type of business requests a payment and does not provide an some type of document to support the fees charged. I think Skynet has very shady business practices and should be avoided at all costs. Concerning Wiggle, this was my last order with them. I question Wiggles core business values when they use such a shady courier. Many other online bike stores which provide trustworthy service
