Weather Wasn't the Problem—IndiGo's Handling Was

I was travelling from Kochi to London Heathrow via Mumbai on a single IndiGo booking when our Kochi–Mumbai flight was diverted due to bad weather. While I completely understand that weather is beyond an airline's control, the way IndiGo handled the disruption was unacceptable. The transfer desk at Mumbai Airport was absolute chaos, with no proper queue management, poor communication, and hundreds of frustrated passengers trying to get assistance. After finally being rebooked on the next day's Mumbai–London flight, we were told to wait for transport to the hotel, but ended up waiting for over two hours because the arrangements were completely inadequate. The biggest shock came at the hotel, where we were informed that unrelated passengers would have to share rooms. I was expected to share a room with a complete stranger, which I found unacceptable for privacy and personal security reasons, so I had to book and pay for my own hotel. Weather disruptions can happen, but poor planning, inadequate passenger care, and expecting strangers to share hotel rooms made an already difficult situation far worse. This was by far the most disappointing airline experience I have had.
