Best guide books I have found for China trip
I am so happy I found the Dolphinunion guidebooks. They provide a fantastic sense of being 'led by the hand,' as they explain everything step by step, including screenshots. They cover both pre-travel preparations and hotel bookings, as well as sightseeing routes once you arrive, well thought through and with options depending on how much time you have. The guides offer a detailed route with all the addresses provided in both English and Chinese, along with public transport options and estimated travel times. Each location is conveniently linked to AMAP maps inside the guide, and there are recommendations for places to eat nearby. The hotel recommendations are spot on. In fact, I was so impressed that I changed some of my earlier bookings to the hotels suggested in the guide, as they were in better locations and offered better value. Overall, during the months I spent preparing for my independent “DIY” trip to China, I haven't found a better guidebook. Money well spent!
