One of the many reported batteries that just died after little use.
My DJI mavic 2 pro battery just stopped working, it had one part ring of green light on it, I put it into the drone because I wanted to access the camera settings briefly and it just died. It won't charge or anything. My understanding was that if a battery is critically low it would put itself into hibernation mode - essentially it wouldn't do anything, no lights etc until it was charged. I thought maybe this is what it had done but it won't charge at all. I left it over night charging and still nothing. It isn't the charger as that still charges the handset. Speak to someone at DJI about the issue and they essentially tell me to send it in for repair, at my expense. I'm in the UK...the nearest repair centre is in the Netherlands. I am also told as it has such a short warranty (read it is now out of warranty) that only if there is a factory manufacturing mistake will it be replaced (one wonders how likely they are to admit a factory fault when they are the judge, jury and executioner...) I am then told later in the very long winded, difficult chat that they actually cannot repair the batteries and either way it will have to be replaced - it's just whether I pay for it or them (I think we all know who is going to have to pay for it here). It seems like to me they ask you to send your dead batteries into them so they can essentially recycle the parts to enhance their profit margins at your expense. I try to ask what percentage of batteries sent in are replaced by DJI due to factory error and no answer. I want to know if it's really worth my time and money and no luck. Clearly, sending the battery in to them is a waste of my time, money and effort. They will probably just keep and reuse the battery and they'll make another £150 odd from me having to buy another battery. Poor customer service so far. These batteries should last longer and be replaced for free when they go wrong. I will be happy to update this review if DJI send me a replacement battery. ***Final update*** DJI has now resolved this issue to my satisfaction. I thank them for their help and support with the matter. Hopefully next time they can be quicker helping customers like me.
