Simply cannot trust the suppliers
Just about every price being displayed is incorrect. Companies sdimply post low prices to gain enquiries only to then tell you that the real prices are anything upto 5 times the amount advertised. When questioned about the incorrect advertising the array of excuses is vast, ranging from exchange rates to covid to them claiming the adverts show a range even though the real prices are well beyod the advertised range. In fairness the assurance offering is ok but the constant dishonest advertising just eats up time and Alibaba appear to do absolutely nothing to resolve the issue. Many of the companies misadvertsing are listed as being gold members who have been reviewed and verified which simply shows the frailty of Alibaba's assurance systems. In addition there are also a number of advertisers who immediately ask you to transfer money by western union and will not do business using the alibaba payment system.........a fairly clear indication of potential fraud which again goesd undealt with. Alibaba should be a great service for importers, the idea is good and lots of the layout and system is good but the complete lack of supplier management ruins all of this.
