Amazing 21-day private tour of China and Tibet
My husband and I have just returned from a 21-day private tour of China, including Tibet, with China Discovery. We had the best time, thanks to Jack Li who organised such an amazing trip that went off without a hitch. Everything was planned perfectly, and we never had to worry about who, when or where we would be picked up. The places we visited were truly amazing, and each city/location was perfect to showcase how beautiful China is and how wonderful the people who live there are. This was evident in the drivers and guides. They were all excellent, Jack in Beijing, Kim in Xi’an, Namgyal in Lhasa, Jolie in Chengdu, Oscar in Guilin/Yangshuo, Eric in Zhangjiajie and finally Fiona in Shanghai. They went above and beyond their role as guides and became friends. Their knowledge and enthusiasm for their country and locations was evident and we learned so much about the culture and history of everywhere that we stayed. Every hotel was perfect. They were all different, but every one of them was to a high standard of comfort and service. However, we have to point out one as being exceptionally outstanding, and that was the Baike Hotel in the Longji Rice Terraces. It has the most amazing views from the bedroom balcony, and their service and quality of food and friendliness was excellent for such a small hotel. We have never done a private tour such as this before and were not quite sure how it would all work out. But we needn’t have worried. Everything was perfect. We travelled through a large part of China and the high-speed trains and flights booked were perfect for getting us about. So once again, thank you Jack and China Discovery, for the most amazing trip. We would recommend this tour to anyone who wishes to visit China in a way that shows it at its very best.
