Bye Bye Cystic Acne
A little about myself - I’m 28, East Asian with literal thick, oily skin. Prior to trying out Proven, I had cystic acne along the jawline with a few pimples on my cheeks and a bunch of whiteheads/blackheads. The packaging is my least favorite thing about the Proven line. I’m constantly wiping down the bottles after each use to keep them looking clean. Otherwise there would be a white residue all over. Also, the caps tend to pop off in my makeup bag. The pump on my cleanser was somewhat fault upon arrival. It took about a week for the cleanser pump to properly prime and take up product for a full pump. Yet, the packaging is not my main focus, it’s the actual formulation for my skin. A nice packaging would be a bonus though. The cleaner itself has a pleasant smell with a gel-like texture that does not lather, which is different from what I have tried in past. After a month of use, I’ve noticed a reduced amount of cystic acne/pimples and am working on the whitehead/blackheads. The cleanser is very gentle and leaves my skin feeling supple after. The Daytime Moisturizer formulated for me includes spf protection against the CA sun - I’m not sure what the rating would be though. It has a thin formula that absorbs into the skin quickly but leaves a white cast, which I dislike (It would be amazing if Proven came out with a tinted moisturizer). I do still experience oily skin throughout the day but I do feel that this moisturizer has helped reduce the oil production by containing more hydrating ingredients. The Nighttime Moisturizer formulated includes sulfur, so the smell isn’t the most pleasant feature but it has been producing results. I feel that the nighttime moisturizer has been the main reason for the decrease in pimples. It has a gel like consistency also absorbs into the skin quite nicely. I did accidentally put on too much product one night and, as I was massaging the product in, experienced some pilling. Overall, I’m satisfied with the Proven line and would like to continue my subscription to see how much better my skin will improve.
