In a nutshell: Very helpful
The course involved a helpful mix of visual and verbal learning with a smattering of kinesthetic. I found the lesson on tenses particularly useful and can see how I could use the action words (verbs) to teach word forms and increase students' vocabulary. I could also imagine drawing the mouth during a class to demonstrate where one places the tongue to generate English-specific sounds. I was surprised to learn that English is considered to have Indo-European roots. It was a bit disappointing that the online component constituted just one lesson, but I guess there is no shortage of videos on YouTube where I might pick up tips to smooth the passage, given that most of my experience is based on face-to-face lessons and/or asynchronous online tutoring focused on writing in English.
