Recoverit’s Repairit tool, perhaps my expectations were too high
I’m sorry I have to give this the lowest rating as Recoverit’s Repairit didn’t work for me or didn’t do what I was lead to believe it would. My external hard drive suddenly developed corruption issues on a number of video files where the video would play then stop, even moving the video forward past the bad sector on relaunch there would be another bad section, basically the file was full of errors. After researching various IT tools on the market Repairit seemed to be the obvious choice. However when launching the file for repair it would only recover the good piece of film before the first bad sector nothing after it. So for example a ten minute film with say five bad sectors, with the first occurring two minutes in, Repairit only retrieved the first two minutes. Perhaps I was naive as to what the tool could do but it didn’t do what I expected it to. I’m not saying its a bad product because looking at the reviews I’m in the minority, I’m sharing that it didn’t work for me. Yes I did do the free down load but as with other IT sites I assumed limited samples and capability, but the free download is good and in hindsight would have told me this wasn’t the product for me.
