Very bad admin and abusive proofreaders. Low rates. Avoid!
CCJK contacted me regarding a subtitle translation project for The Disney Channel. The treatment I received from CCJK was extremely unprofessional and degrading. I submitted my test piece which was nearly 3 mn long. They asked me to do it free of charge. I spent my time and worked on the test piece. I was told that I failed the test as I did not follow the 42 character per line rule in 4 places. When I double checked the lines, I noted that they were perfectly following the 42 chr. per line rule. When I pointed this out, CCJK came back to me with a new set of errors which they claimed to be punctuation errors, alongside their proof-reader’s abusive comment about me. The piece that I worked on was a comedy and I kept some of the original punctuation as they were used for a specific purpose. The guidance I received from CCJK was not much helpful neither. It was extremely shocking that their proof-reader was abusive towards me. I strongly warn my fellow translators about CCJK.
