Extremely unhappy with Alder
If zero stars was an option I would have chosen that. We gave in to pressure from an aggressive salesman who knocked on our door while we were still in the process of moving. It sounded like a good idea at first, but after a few weeks my wife and I decided we didn't want it, thinking we had 30 days to cancel. So I called in an cancelled and we sent our equipment back. That should have been the end of it. This is 9 months later and they're still pulling out $50/month from our checking account. I finally got to a person that told me we had a 60 month contract, which is not the 24 months I thought we had. So if they can keep you in their system for more than 3 days, the fine print in their contract says they can legally keep charging you for 5 years, even if you sent the equipment back on day 4. I had to talk to several people from Alder in the process of cancelling, and they offered to change our monthly rate from $50/month to $10/month and even offered to add a camera trying to get me to change my mind. I had to keep telling them we do not want the service and finally they cancelled my account... but not really. They don't tell you that in the background they're still charging you for services that are not being delivered nor are they wanted. Alder has made me even more skeptical of "security" companies. Stay away from them.
