A very expensive paperweight. Sleek look, completely broken software.
I really wanted to love the Enabot EBO Max, but after trying to use it, it has been an incredibly frustrating and expensive disappointment. For a premium-priced robot, it completely lacks basic functionality in almost every everyday situation. The glitzy video marketing is totally untrue compared to the actual experience. Here is why I cannot recommend this item: Completely Unresponsive Voice Recognition: The response time is painfully slow. It constantly glitches and says "navigation failed". You have to repeat a command six or seven times just to get it to register an action, let alone actually do something. Useless Face Recognition & Tracking: The heavily advertised AI face recognition feature is totally broken. For example, I asked it to go to the kitchen, find Jake, and ask him what time he wants to go out. EBO wandered into the kitchen, just stood there blankly, and then announced it couldn't find the person—even though Jake was standing right in front of its camera lens. Terrible Navigation: It constantly bashes into furniture and gets stuck. Instead of smoothly navigating a room like the promo videos suggest, it behaves like a cheap, blind toy. Connection & Audio Drops: When you are trying to talk through EBO, the voice breaks up constantly because it's always losing some sort of connection. The Only Positive: On a positive note, the physical item itself looks good. The hardware is sleek and has a premium aesthetic, but that just makes the awful, poor-quality software even more frustrating. We really hope the company takes user feedback seriously and drastically improves the software in future updates. But until they do a complete overhaul, this is just a very expensive, futuristic-looking paperweight. Save your money for now.
