I am extremely angry and disappointed…
I am extremely angry and disappointed with the way I was treated and with the serious disruption caused to my journey from Manchester to Bangkok via Delhi. Before boarding my flight at Manchester Airport, I specifically asked staff on three separate occasions whether I would have sufficient time to make my connecting flight from Delhi to Bangkok. On each occasion, I was explicitly assured that I would have enough time. I was also told that, if there were any issues, the connecting aircraft would be held because approximately 30 passengers were connecting onto that flight. I relied on these assurances and boarded the flight on the understanding that my connection was secure. However, when we arrived in Delhi, the connecting flight to Bangkok had already departed. I was left stranded at Delhi Airport and forced to wait approximately eight hours for the next available flight. This was completely unacceptable, particularly given that I had specifically sought reassurance from their staff before travelling. To make matters worse, when I purchased an earlier flight with Air India, the airline refused to transfer my checked luggage to the Air India flight. As a result, I was unable to take the earlier flight and lost money on the ticket I had purchased. This was not simply an inconvenience or a minor delay. I was travelling to Bangkok because my uncle had been involved in a serious accident and was critically unwell. Tragically, he passed away just two days later. Because of the delay and the failure of my connection, I did not arrive in Bangkok as scheduled and missed the hospital visiting time. Given the circumstances, this caused me significant distress at an already extremely difficult and emotional time. What makes this situation particularly unacceptable is that I did everything I reasonably could to avoid missing my connection. I checked with three members of staff at Manchester Airport and was repeatedly assured that I would have sufficient time. I relied on IndiGo's staff's professional advice, and I have subsequently suffered financial loss, significant inconvenience and considerable emotional distress as a direct consequence.
