IndiGo

**Very disappointing experience with…

**Very disappointing experience with IndiGo – serious concerns about passenger care** I had a very difficult experience travelling with IndiGo from **GOX to Mumbai and onwards to London on 8 September 2026**. My original flight from GOX was cancelled, with the explanation that the aircraft was unable to land. I was then moved onto a GOX–Delhi flight, with the crew initially indicating that I should still be able to make my onward connection. However, after checking the flight information, it became clear that the onward London flight had been significantly delayed. I eventually travelled to Delhi, but while we were mid-flight, passengers were informed that due to a technical issue affecting Heathrow, the aircraft would instead land in **Paris**. On arrival in Paris at around 11pm, passengers were directed into Terminal 1. What was particularly disappointing was the **lack of IndiGo crew presence or meaningful assistance**. There were no clear arrangements for food or passenger support, and passengers were left trying to work out what to do themselves. This was particularly serious for me because I am a **dialysis patient** and my health was deteriorating. I became extremely unwell and had to seek assistance from airport paramedics, who checked my vital signs. I subsequently contacted the British Embassy for help in reaching London so that I could continue with my medical treatment. The British Embassy was exceptionally helpful. They contacted Eurostar management and assisted me in arranging onward travel to London. I paid approximately **€300 for the Eurostar journey**, together with approximately **€380 in other travel expenses** getting from the airport to the train station. I also incurred additional costs with my **Heathrow car parking**, as I had originally planned to collect my vehicle earlier but could not do so due to the disruption. I was unable to collect my car on 9 September because I had to attend a dialysis unit until late that evening and was already exhausted. What stood out to me was the contrast between IndiGo and other airlines. I saw Qatar Airways representatives actively assisting and guiding their passengers during the disruption. I appreciate that the technical problem may not have been entirely within IndiGo's control, but **how passengers are looked after during an unexpected disruption is absolutely within the airline's responsibility**. I would also like to mention that I had paid extra for a **stretcher/extra-space seating arrangement** because of the cramped seating and my circumstances. The British Embassy and airport paramedics showed genuine concern for my wellbeing when I needed assistance most. Unfortunately, I did not experience the same level of passenger care from IndiGo. I understand that airlines can experience cancellations, delays and technical problems. However, passengers should not be left without appropriate assistance, particularly when there are vulnerable passengers with serious medical needs. This was an extremely stressful and uncomfortable experience, and I believe IndiGo needs to significantly improve its **passenger care, communication and support during major disruptions**. My advice to fellow travellers is to think carefully when choosing an airline. Sometimes paying a little more for an airline with stronger customer service and passenger support can be worthwhile. Whether you pay £1 or £1,000, **you deserve to be treated with care, dignity and respect when things go wrong.** I hope IndiGo reviews what happened, including the lack of support provided to passengers in Paris, and takes steps to ensure other passengers do not experience the same situation.
