As Clarks are, these are a snug fit. Think of them as support hose for your feet. I've put them on immediately upon delivery with a heavy sock to break them in. About 7 hours later they are warm and relaxed enough for full wear with a regular sock. Nice support ( I often use arch supports with inexpensive shoes) but in these I am good without in these. They are a quality leather shoe for the price. Again size up a half size and give them one day to conform to your feet.
