I ordered the "Thru Axle" 350 watt motor with a 500Wh battery because I liked the simple 2 part assembly. Let's start with delivery: it took about 6 weeks until all was delivered, one package from China got lost though they sent me another one from Polen - why not in the first place from there (I am living in Europe)? Installation: was easy but the "Thru Axle" isn't really a thru axle since there is not an axle anymore but only an adapter on each side, which fixes the motor to the frame and one of these fixing points (on the gear side) gets loose after a while - though you have to be aware of controlling and retighten the screw (it becomes obvious when the gears not work properly anymore). Driving: in flat terrain it works quite well although the controller is not really predictible at which speed it starts to support. In mountainous terrain it's not useful at all because these kind of motor is not made for it, I wasn't aware of this characteristics until I found out - my wrong expectation. Controller: besides the max speed and the wheel size you cannot ajust more things - I thought one can ajust more parameters like: max power support for each support step or how much the controller supports in comparis of my own pedal power etc. After a 3-day-tour, close to the alps, I removed the motor and battery from my gravel-bike.
