Good for sourcing, subpar payment experience
Alibaba is a great source for suppliers. However its processes can be somewhat dubious lately. When we paid for an order, we changed the currency from SGD to USD. We changed the credit card and it defaulted back to SGD. We ended up having to pay Alibaba a convenience fee, poor exchange rates and waste our forex. They refused to reverse the transaction over such small sums, which leaves doubts in our minds if they will protect our rights when there are disputes with suppliers.
