Flight cancelled for no clear reason
I booked a Hainan Airlines flight from Brussels to Bangkok with a layover in Beijing, primarily because of the significant price difference (€520 instead of over €700). Four weeks before my flight, I received a message that it had been cancelled for “corporate reasons” and that I would be rescheduled to a flight 24 hours earlier. From other reviews I read, this seems to be a regular practice: Hainan offers flights every day, then cancels them and merges passengers onto other flights when not enough tickets are sold. When I explained that I could not travel a day earlier, no alternative options were provided. On top of that, it took days to get confirmation that I was eligible for a full refund, forcing me to buy a new ticket while prices were rising. I find it unbelievable that an airline can cancel a flight for no clear reason. The fact that Hainan does this so regularly is reason enough for me to never book with them again..
