Nanoleaf

Awesome hardware/ worst app you've EVER seen

It is impossible to overstate how utterly atrocious the Nanoleaf app is, which boggles the mind as the hardware is phenomenal. When the lights work, they're the coolest thing in my house. The app ruins the entire experience. One of my Nanoleaf devices (a set of lines) randomly dropped off the app today. I've spent roughly two hours and it simply will not re-connect. I've tried everything under the sun short of completely deleting the app, which I won't do as I still have other Nanoleaf devices that are working properly (for the time being). I have utterly zero confidence that I'd be able to re-add the other devices if I had to reset them. It's like a miracle has been performed when you actually get a pairing to occur. I have two other Nanoleaf bulbs that I simply cannot use because they won't connect to the app. Their product is borderline customer fraud. *** UPDATE*** posting this update about 2 weeks after my original... Customer service never contacted me after several attempts to reach someone, so still a 1 star on that front... BUT every day I tried at least once to add my disconnected device, and randomly out of nowhere it paired about a week ago and haven't had any problems since. I still hold steadfast that the app is atrocious, but once they're working, Nanoleafs are so awesome... If they just stopped product development for six months and put all their resources into bolstering the app, this could be a five star product. One last note, I've found that randomly a product will become unreachable through the app for a period of time, usually about 12 hours. It typically resolves itself so at this point I just let the cycle play out.
