Domestika

Very hard, short and expensive non-refund policy

I wish I had read the Trustpilot reviews before getting trapped: Be aware of the agressive sales funnel you are being lured into. Very hard and short non-refund policy. When I wanted to try one of their courses, I had to use the free trial period. When it seemed the course was not that interesting for me personally, I went on and was barely reminded of the 200 euro annual subscription that would automatically be activated, until it was too late. I reacted immediately and contacted them to request a refund. It was not easy to contact them and when I finally managed they cooly answered it was possible to stop a sunscription, but impossible to get a refund. I tried to see if I could get any use of the system during that year of subscription, but the content and the system are not my cup of tea, plus the trust in the company was gone. This combination of 1) aggressive advertising 2) short and unclear free trial period 3) hard non-refund policy should be regulated. It undermines the trust in online course systems. Many similar platforms offer the option ‘get refunded if it’s not your thing’, as proof they believe in their product. It is quite remarkable that Domestika does not do that, especially when you see the amount of similar stories on Trustpilot. This is not ‘an unfortunate situation’ any more, this is a business model and it is dispicable.
