Bosscat trying to charge for work they never did.
I asked Bosscat for a quote to replace the water pressure valve between my house and the street. They sent an honest plumber to take a look. He said that there was no need to replace the valve; it was working properly. He spent about 30 minutes on the property and did no repairs. Bosscat sent me a bill for $600. I told them that I was willing to pay a service fee for the call but as there was no work done I wouldn't pay $600. Over the last several years, one of their employees would call me periodically to ask for payment and I would patiently explain that they had done no work for me but I would pay a service fee. These employees never addressed the issue. Yesterday I was notified that they had sent the $600 invoice to a collection agency. I wouldn't trust this company to do any work or make quotes. "but diagnosing a system accurately requires both professional expertise and the proper use of time and resources. Our service fee covers not just the visit, but the skill and detailed assessment performed to ensure the integrity of your plumbing" This is the reply from Bosscat. This detailed assessment they speak of consisted of the plumber spending ten minutes checking the pressure at an outside faucet and 20 minutes taking a faucet apart and putting it back together. No plumber would charge $600 to do that! I stand by my assessment of this outrageous attempt to coerce me to pay for services never rendered. Do not use this company!
