Disappointing experience – payment taken before KYC verification
I attempted to purchase a JD.com gift card on SEAGM. The process appeared very simple at first — within seconds, my credit card was charged. However, only after they had received the funds did the platform begin a complex KYC verification process. Despite submitting a selfie with my ID and all requested documents, the verification was repeatedly rejected due to unexplained and vague “format issues.” After several failed attempts, I had no choice but to request a refund. I do not object to KYC verification in itself — it's a standard security measure. What I find unacceptable is that SEAGM chooses to collect payment before confirming the user’s identity. A proper and fair process would ensure that users are charged only after they are approved. The refund will take at least 10 days, and fees will be deducted. In my opinion, this is a misleading and unfair practice. I cannot recommend this site.
