Overnight train from Shanghai to Beijing
We took the night train from Shanghai to Beijing (hard sleeper) and overall, the ride was very pleasant and everything went smoothly. The train conditions exceeded our expectations — everything felt clean, relatively quiet, and more comfortable than we anticipated given the ticket type. That said, a few things could be improved. It would have been great to choose our specific bed (upper, middle, or lower) in advance, and we also wish there were more photos or clear info about the train layout and ride types available before booking. The booking process itself felt a bit uncertain — we paid without being 100% sure seats were secured, and only later had to pay extra to confirm them. Still, the journey was enjoyable and we’d definitely consider doing it again!
