Get a U11S and get into the Air

A few weeks ago, I wrote the review for Amazon shown further below, and I think I successfully uploaded it there. I certainly intended to do that, and I hope I succeeded (not adept at doing that kind of thing). I still stand by all that I said then, but I can add a bit more now. My goal is to teach myself to fly a drone consistently well and safely, and the U11S has been and continues to be just right for me to that. For other beginners, I recommend using the U11S in the same way. Don't worry so much about camera, or gimbals, video feed or picture quality for now. Just learn to fly your drone! Later, when you can fly with confidence, upgrade to your heart's content (and what your wallet can stand). Final word: get a U11S and get into the air! Left on Amazon: Very happy with my Ruko U11S drone. It is a GPS connected drone and is an excellent next step up from the basic toy drone I started with. It flies easily and well, and the camera does what Ruko claims it will do. The Ruko customer service was responsive with helpful replies to my many emailed questions (thank you!), although, due to time zone differences between me and them, I had to wait for a response. Still, we sorted out every issue. 2 things: (1) this drone weighs over 250 grams/0.55 pounds so it has to be registered with FAA if flown in American airspace: not a big deal, easy to do, and costs only $5.00 US (and kind of cool!). (2) The start up sequence provided some challenges, and the written instructions and training videos were only partially helpful. I can offer these suggestions: get the drone outside in range of GPS satellites before even trying start up; at each stage of the start up, be patient; the drone will, eventually, "talk to you", confirming you are on the right path; and, for compass and gyro calibration, find the prompts in the app on your phone after you see Go Flying in the Ruko app. So, in conclusion, the U11S is a good beginner drone to learn to fly and start enjoying getting into the sky!
