I received a printer that has firmware…
I received a printer that has firmware issues or something where it attempts to commit suicide. It will finish a print and then start printing on its own, and try to run the extruder (a $75 part) into the hard plastic print on the build plate which causes it to blow into pieces then bust the glass door on the front open and I'm sure it's bending the rails and stretching the belts as it can't push against the print that is still adhesion stuck to the bed. They seem to view it like, well it still works... But the overall lifespan of the printer has been dramatically decreased with such a defect. You also lose the hundreds of grams of material from the print that was just decimated. With a printer that costs $500 you dont expect software, motherboard, firmware, issues like this to be still missed by QA. I'm not the only one that has had this issue. I recommended and advertised this product along with the Neptune series printers. The company seems to only want to work with big channels as I've mentioned my involvement in several customers switching their operations over to elegoo with no response from their side as to promotions or opportunities. Other companies have. So, do I think they are legit? Yes it course. Trust pilot wise they are legit. Do I think they take customers for granted? Yes. Not everyone has another $500 to buy another printer that nukes itself. Speaking of which, they wanted me to pay for the shipping on a warranty item. This effectively is not a covered warranty. This kind of detail has to be mentioned. So I now have a bill with USPS at the border for a parcel I've never ever picked up, nor ever will. The filament I ordered (over 200$ worth), much of which was shipped just on the filament boxes and the boxes with filthy, mangled, ripped and punctured. Even the Centauri carbon I bought that has all the issues was shipped in a box that had a huge dent and rip in the side. I just don't know anymore. Do I recommend it? Not at this exact moment no, not really. Unless you have experience and always watch your printer. Don't try printing with it unwatched or it will cost you.
