PaymentCloud

UPDATE: I no longer recommend PaymentCloud or Jessie Todd.

UPDATE: I no longer recommend PaymentCloud or Jessie Todd. I originally left PaymentCloud a 5-star review because Jessie helped get our business approved when companies like PayPal and Stripe considered us “high risk.” At the beginning, the experience was great. Unfortunately, what happened afterward completely changed my opinion. The processor PaymentCloud placed us with, Kurv, eventually terminated our account and held over $20,000 of our funds. We were left dealing with a major interruption to our business and a large amount of operating capital being tied up. One of the issues raised was chargebacks and RDR, despite our actual chargeback history being very low. We were also being pushed toward an RDR setup that made absolutely no financial sense for our low-ticket business because of the fees involved. The biggest disappointment for me is that I went through PaymentCloud specifically because I expected them to help us navigate situations like this. When everything was going well, the service was great. When there was a serious problem involving more than $20,000 of our money, the experience was completely different. I trusted Jessie and PaymentCloud enough to publicly recommend them before. Based on what happened afterward, I can no longer recommend them. And as of 8/8/2026 our money is still held up. If you're considering PaymentCloud, especially for a high-risk merchant account, I strongly suggest asking exactly what happens if the processor suddenly terminates your account, how long your funds can be held, what reserve policies apply, and what PaymentCloud will actually do for you if something goes wrong.
