Gosphel Getaway - Bad Experience!
The check-in process went smoothly and the staff were very friendly and professional. When we arrived at the cabin, it was immediately apparent that the A/C was not working or turned off. I called for maintenance. A very polite man arrived and told me the system was not set properly and demonstrated how the remote worked. He then left and we thought it was fixed, it wasn't. So for the next 6 days, we endured a dysfunctional A/C system. Our cabin was called the "Gosphel Getaway" and it's less than 1/2 mile from the county waste management center. For 3 days of our stay, the stench outside the cabin was so bad that you would gag to smell it. The price of the cabin should reflect this with lower rates but it doesn't. The cabin itself was also with issues. The hot tub never reached a level above bath water. It felt only warm and was unclean. The marketing of the cabin said they replace the water after each renting but this is not true. It was pretty dirty too. The cabin itself had a lot of problems as well. The sink leaked when we washed the dishes, when you walked into the cabin, you could tell that the right half of the cabin was noticeably lower than the left side. In bed, you head felt lower than your feet. Although we didn't have a thermometer, we believed the refrigerator never reached a safe temperature for food storage. I could go on and on but suffice to say we will never rent this cabin again or any cabin along Ridge Road. That waste management facility is awful. When we left the cabin, we felt cheated as this was a very expensive vacation. The cabin ruined it for us.
