Shady subscription practices
Be extremely careful before using PayPal on Seeking Alpha. They hide the final price until after the transaction is already authorized for the subscription. During the checkout, the price shown was $299. However, the moment I clicked PayPal as the payment method, I was charged a total of $364.78 without even seeing a confirmation page with the total amount. You literally don’t see the final amount until the money has already left your account. I would not have authorized the payment had I been shown that page. When I immediately contacted their support to request a refund, they flat-out refused. Instead, they tried to push me into accepting the alternative of "internal credit" for future purchases of the same exact services at the same exact conditions. They are banking on the fact that PayPal's automated systems won't catch this billing trick. If you value transparency and your consumer rights, stay away from this service. They care more about trapping you in a subscription than anything else. Response to their message: Oh yeah I’m sure you will talk to “the team” about it. No they were not disclosed, otherwise you wouldn’t have had my money right now. Enjoy them because there won’t be any more.
