I was initially very intimdated to begin studying Mandarin, even though my father was fluent in the language, I had convinced myself I was a "bad" language learner. This course was a good, low pressure way to start in small easy to absorb pieces. I tired to do at least one section and quiz per day and be concsistent rather than be perfect. That combined with getting my flashcards to zero every day usually gave me a solid 15-20 minutes per day. NO ZERO days! Then anything I added on top of that was just bouns learning time. I thus have more confidence to begin the regular course without feeling intimidated or overwhelmed. I'll never be as fluent as my dad (he could fool native speakers on the phone), but I intend to get close. Thanks guys...love all the content.
