Use Traveloka with caution
Use Traveloka with caution. Room listings are not accurately reflect the actual booking confirmed by the hotel. I booked a Gold Twin City View room (Wolo KL, Malaysia) based on Traveloka’s listing, but the hotel confirmed my reservation was actually a lower-category no-window room. This is a clear mismatch between what was advertised and what was booked. The handling of this issue has been unacceptable. There was no timely resolution, and I was instead asked to self-pay for an upgrade and submit a claim afterward—effectively shifting the cost, risk, and inconvenience to the customer. And Traveloka expect consumers to pay upfront for their platform’s mistake and still go through a claims process afterward? This is completely unacceptable. I was later offered a SGD 60 voucher and a refund, but this does not resolve the core issue. With less than 2 days before check-in, it is unreasonable to expect customers to find alternative accommodation at short notice, especially with likely price surges and limited availability. Key issues: • Misleading / inaccurate room listing • Hotel room booking does not match advertised room type • No direct accountability or immediate resolution • Unfair “pay first, claim later” process • Delayed handling close to check-in date This experience caused significant stress, inconvenience, and financial uncertainty. It raises serious concerns about Traveloka’s reliability and transparency. Do not rely solely on discounted listings—verify carefully before booking.
