FAFREES

Fafrees F20 Pro

I’ve been testing the Fafrees F20 Pro for several days and overall I think it offers good value for a folding fat-tyre e-bike. The bike feels solid and stable, and the 20x3.0 tyres give a comfortable ride on rough roads and paths. Hill climbing is also better than expected for a hub motor bike, with the motor pulling steadily even on steep hills. My main criticism is the gearing. The standard 48T chainring feels too small for road riding, so cadence becomes too fast quite quickly even in the highest gear. I upgraded to a 52T chainring, which improved the riding experience, although I think slightly taller gearing would suit this bike even better. The pedal assist system also feels quite basic. The PAS levels seem mainly speed-based rather than torque-based, so on steep hills there is little noticeable difference between assist levels at low speed. The display and settings menu can also be confusing because some settings do not behave as expected compared with standard S866 displays. Overall though, the F20 Pro is comfortable, capable, and enjoyable for relaxed riding, especially if you value stability and compact folding convenience.
