Emotional Whiplash
Shopping from lacemade is like undergoing constant emotional whiplash. It’s frustrating beyond belief when things go wrong due to abysmal customer service, misleading production times, and falsely advertised merchandise… yet unfortunately, a good handful of their pieces are beautiful. That does not mean you should purchase them from the brand themselves, though. This brand is shamelessly money-hungry, turning a blind eye to quality, even losing the core message of their brand in order to cut costs. They have not produced a legitimate corset dress, one with boning, a corset back, AND a modesty panel (the bare minimum for their older pieces, as a customer since 2021) in months despite these types of dresses being a cornerstone of their brand. Fabric quality has gotten worse, as has construction of garments as a whole. All this to say, the prices have only increased despite the worsening quality. Scandal has not evaded this brand in the slightest, either. The community forum (run through an app called Discord) in which customers are REQUIRED to join in order to redeem the rewards that their spending has earned is run by moderators chosen by the brand who have appeared to belittle, bully, and purposely single-out other members of the forum. Lacemade at a corporate level is 100% complacent to this, as on various occasions members have reached out to LM staff—via different methods of communication—about issues they’ve run into in that forum, only to be promptly ignored or banned. I’m far too old to entertain such ugly behavior, and until I witness change in this brands values and quality, I refuse to purchase directly from them. I look to the second hand market, as I recommend you do as well. P.S. They’ve sent out clothing pieces in trade for 5 star reviews on both trustpilot and judge.me. Do with that what you will.
