The Home Depot

Deception Home Depot

If you buy a washer/dryer from Home Depot they do not list or tell you, you need new valves. They do this because it’s very expensive. I even called & said is anything else needed, no, no. So I wait 5 hours on a Saturday for installation. Then the installation guy explains we cannot do anything till you get new valves & that Home D knows this. Just tell the customer the truth. I still would have bought the washer & dryer & most importantly I would have had the valves completed, so everything could have been installed. Basically I missed an entire Saturday just to find out Home D lied to me. If you are thinking about a new washer & dryer. Get some plumbers out so you can get the best price possible. There are bad business tactics & then just completely deceiving the customer. That’s Home D. And there are solid competitors. Use them. Maybe they will not deceive you. Update: Called Home Depot. They do mention the valves “in the how to prepare email”. Under the main bulleted instructions, under all the rules & regulations, is a link to a link. Haha. The best is talking to the customer service people. “We’re sorry you couldn’t follow instructions”. Nor could ChatGPT, Claude, haha. It’s these businesses that make people lose trust in businesses & Home D is sooooo rich. Just help us out. Mention the valves in the bulleted to be prepared for list. I’d at least not have lost a Saturday.
