I purchased a Garmin Instinct 3 on Amazon
I purchased a Garmin Instinct 3 on Amazon which presented a definitive factory defect after only a couple of months of use. After contacting Garmin support, they validated the warranty and approved the replacement. However, their international logistics policies are completely abusive and unfair. They require international customers to pay for the return shipping of the defective unit back to their facility in Olathe, Kansas. Shipping just the watch face from Colombia costs around $155 USD via private couriers, which is nearly a third of the price of the watch itself. On top of that, Garmin provides no guarantees regarding customs handling, meaning international buyers risk being double-taxed for import duties (another $100+ USD) when the replacement device arrives. It is unacceptable that a consumer must absorb nearly $300 USD in unexpected logistical expenses just to resolve a manufacturer quality control issue. Their support team simply repeats script answers without providing actual solutions, prepaid labels, or courtesy exceptions. If you live outside the US, think twice before buying this brand, as their global warranty is financially non-viable for the end-user.
