I started with virtually no knowledge of McKinsey Solve and felt genuinely prepared within about a week of prep with Case Mentor. The walkthroughs were practical, detailed, and focused on strategy rather than just explaining the games. The most valuable tip was making full use of the periods when the clock stops. It made a huge difference during the assessment. One thing future candidates should know: the actual assessment is completely silent. Nothing is read out, and all instructions must be read on-screen.
