Renewing a passport, Do It Yourself
Like many reviewers, I mistakenly thought this website was affiliated with the government. I filled out the information for a renewal and paid a fee ($138.95) March 17,2026. Initially, I got a response informing me that my photo was not approved. It took me a week or so to line up a professional photo and send it to them. After that I learned that they are not associated with the government. What followed was a series of inquiries with no response. In the middle of May, I tried their online query also with no response. Toward the end of May, I finally found a phone number that connected me to an AI handler in Idaho which said it would submit an "request urgent", again no response. Another "support" phone number in the middle of June took me to another very frustrating AI handler that kept asking me what my "legal" issue was. It had been almost 3 months since beginning this application and I still had no clue where my file was. By this time, I realized that I would still have to pay $130 to the government to process the application regardless of what the Entry,com people had done. That realization made me finally go to the federal website, fill out the application again (<30 minutes), pay them $130, and almost immediately receive a confirmation with the estimate of 4-6 weeks return. Interestingly, later I finally got direct communication from Entry.com informing me that my file had made it to Washington, DC and inquiring whether I would like to proceed(?). Within that time lapse, I received my passport (~3 weeks) from the government. Obviously, I told the person at Entry.com, no. I asked for a refund; he said, no, because they had done all the work in processing my file. For the record, he was polite and understanding and even offered me some sort of deal in future work with Entry. In summary, if you are renewing a passport, do not use these people. You can handle all of it yourself and likely receive the passport faster. That will also save the "processing" fee charged by Entry.com. lummikent
