The policy wording is extremely broad and doesn’t distinguish between genuinely high-risk activities (diving, jet-skiing) and everyday tourist experiences like a scenic boat tour, which most travellers would never think to be “at risk” from. In destinations like the Maldives, boats are the only way to get between islands — there’s no other form of transport, so almost any trip inevitably involves a “boat-ride.” Under this policy’s logic, that alone appears to void gadget cover for the entire holiday. I’d strongly encourage anyone taking out gadget cover to read section P38 carefully, as it may exclude far more everyday holiday activities than expected. I’m now pursuing this further as I believe the exclusion is being applied too broadly for what was a standard tourist activity.
