Blinds To Go

Dissatisfied with fit of drapes.

Blinds To Go Review - Kanata, Ontario The quality and fabrication of my new drapes is excellent. However, that is where my pleasure with my purchase ends. I ordered custom pleated drapes for two windows as well as double rods to accommodate both the drapes and shears behind. I was clear that I did not want to see the rod and therefore wanted the hooks to be placed high enough to hide the rod. The measurement of the drapes was done correctly to accommodate this. Now for the problems. The drapes are double the width that is needed to cover the windows. This means that when the drapes are closed, there are too many pleats bunched together unless I manually move each one and try to get them even. I have ordered custom drapes from Blind-To-Go previously and they were not like this. Picture #1 is my previous order, picture # 2 my current order. Picture #1 Picture #2 (I am unable to enter the pictures) As well, when the new ones are opened to each side, only half the widow is unobstructed to allow light in. When I contacted the day after installation, the response was “People wish for more fullness but I guess for you it’s too much”. Yes – that is true, it is too much for me but why would I expect the drapes to be made differently from my previous order. I did not ask for extra fullness and I don’t like the look. The proposed resolution is that I would pay to have the width cut down or to only use one panel per window (one panel actually does cover the entire window) which would then only open to one side. In other words, I could pay for the extra material (double what was required) that I paid for but hadn’t wanted or ordered. It was then suggested I could use the two spare panels elsewhere. The whole reason for ordering custom was to get a proper fit. I could have saved money and bought ready made drapes and may have ended up with a better fit. On another note, when I showed the one thing I was not happy with regarding my first order (a seam on the outside of a pleat so it is obvious) I was told I should have contacted them within 30 days – not sure why because it seems they would have charged me for a correction anyway. Overall, I will like the drapes if I can be creative and tuck some behind at the ends and double some up on the rings but feel I overpaid for too much fabric. The suggestion that I use one panel per window and use the two spare panels elsewhere is unacceptable.
