I’m about halfway through Contrarian…
I’m about halfway through Contrarian Thinking’s business acquisition course, and looking back, the day I pulled the trigger on this course was a pivotal moment in my life. While CT methodically teaches you how to buy a business, the impact of the knowledge, and the people teaching it, has gone far beyond the original expectation. It’s opened my eyes to the abundance of opportunity, taught me the nitty-gritty of how to actually make big things happen, and reinforced that bigger goals are perfectly reasonable when you have clarity around where you’re going. As for the course itself, there’s a huge depth of information available if you want to dive in, but it’s structured in manageable bites that make it easy to follow and build on what you’re learning. Help is readily available, and the responsiveness when you need assistance is a genuine 10/10. The live classes are where the real magic happens. I genuinely haven’t attended one without walking away with a new insight, a better question, or a different way of looking at something. The instructors are exceptional. They’re accomplished in their own pursuits, but equally impressive is their ability to communicate and teach across a wide range of experience levels. Knowing your craft is one thing; being able to translate that knowledge in a way that resonates with different people is another. They do both remarkably well. The 1:1 access to mentors of this caliber is another standout. Having the opportunity to work through a sticking point, pressure-test an idea, or get direct feedback on something specific is incredibly valuable, particularly when you’re navigating unfamiliar territory. A specific shoutout to Nick C. His approach is a rare blend of holistic thinking and sharp business acumen that I haven’t encountered before. His insights are darn near medicinal, with a knack for asking the question behind the question, the one that makes you reconsider what you’re actually trying to solve. My life has propelled forward by acting on the answers that came days and weeks after sitting with his questions. And lastly, there’s the community. It’s badass. I live in a small town, so having access to this caliber of ambitious, curious, and unconventional thinkers is something of great value. Before committing, I hoped I’d feel like a small fish in a big pond, and boy do I. What the members bring to the table has been every bit as valuable as the course and the instructors themselves. I’m only halfway through, and I’ve already taken far more from this experience than simply learning how to buy a business. Pulling the trigger on CT was an investment in myself that has profoundly changed the trajectory of where I’m headed. Very grateful I jumped in.
