Anyrecover

“Lifetime” license that stops working after Windows reinstalls

I purchased a Lifetime/Unlimited AnyRecover license for 2 devices. I am not using the software on multiple different computers. I reinstalled Windows several times on the same computer and later upgraded some hardware. AnyRecover apparently counted those old installations as separate devices, and now my account shows 0/2 devices available. I contacted support and asked them to remove or reset the old activations, because those installations no longer exist. Instead of resolving the issue, they told me that they cannot delete the connected devices and that I should purchase more devices or buy a new plan. In my opinion, this is extremely misleading. What is the point of a “Lifetime” license if a few Windows reinstalls on your own computer can eventually force you to pay again? I have asked them to show me exactly where in the terms of my license it says that reinstalling Windows counts as a new device and that old activations cannot be reset. I will update this review if the company actually resolves the issue and allows me to use the Lifetime license I already paid for.
