I want to share my first international…
I want to share my first international travel experience with IndiGo, from Nepal to the UK, because I believe other Nepali students and travellers should know about my experience. First, I want to appreciate the IndiGo staff in Nepal. They were kind, supportive and helpful, and I had a good experience with them. Unfortunately, my experience during transit in India was completely different. The immigration process was extremely stressful and emotionally disturbing for me. I was already exhausted from travelling, and instead of feeling supported, I felt extremely uncomfortable, helpless and mentally distressed. I was asked for additional documents and information even though I had already completed the necessary procedures and had the documents required for my international journey. As an international traveller, especially when you are transiting through another country, you may not have a local SIM card, internet connection, or easy access to your contacts. In that situation, unnecessary difficulties can make the experience even more frightening and stressful. I genuinely do not understand why I was treated in this way. I am Nepali, and I cannot help wondering whether my nationality played a role. I do not want to make an accusation without evidence, but the experience made me feel that way. This was my FIRST international journey, and unfortunately, IndiGo became one of the most stressful memories of that journey. I will remember this experience for a very long time. Because of this experience, I personally would NOT recommend IndiGo to my fellow Nepali students and travellers who are planning to travel internationally. I would strongly encourage them to carefully consider their airline and transit arrangements before booking. My message to IndiGo is simple: PLEASE DO NOT TREAT OTHER PASSENGERS THIS WAY. Nepali students travelling to the UK and other countries are already dealing with the stress of starting a new life abroad. They deserve to be treated with dignity, respect and understanding not made to feel helpless or mentally distressed during their journey. I sincerely hope IndiGo takes this complaint seriously, investigates what happened, and makes sure that other passengers do not experience the same situation. I am sharing this not because I want to create conflict, but because I do not want another Nepali student or international traveller to go through what I experienced.
